Benjamin Aaron: My birth Story with baby number 4

Benjamin is now 5 months old and it's been a little over a year since I updated my blog.
But I really wanted to try to write down every single detail of Ben's birth since he more than likely will be my last baby.
Becoming pregnant with Ben was such a shock but also very exciting. Tim and I had really been talking about the possibility of adding a fourth baby to our family, I had started pinning baby and pregnancy stuff, I was planning to start trying right after Tevin turned three.
Little did I know God had different plans and different timing. I was a little bummed that it wasn't in my timing but now that I can see a little more clearly, I am so blessed by the most laid- back baby boy ever.
Tim had just barely been out of the army for a few months, our insurance with the army had ended and I was totally overwhelmed at bringing a baby into this family trying to adjust to a new norm. The entire pregnancy I had intense anxiety about the health of the baby and also pretty much anything you could worry about I did.
It was such a hard adjustment to Tim getting out. Also moving back to New Mexico (which is a totally different story) and then throw in a baby! Exciting and terrifying all at the same time.

God surprises me a lot.

Also, becoming a mama to four, wow is all I can really say. You have now idea how to even begin to parent four little human beings with completely different personalities. Also, trying to become this new person all at the same time.
It was a lot to adjust to and honestly I'm still really adjusting. It's hard work. It's even harder when you struggle with post-partum depression and so while his birth is fresh on my mind, I will try to recreate his birth on paper.

What a week! seriously it just feels like one thing after another, we have been constantly sick for the past few weeks it feels like.
Then the icing on the cake, I threw out my back last week and I finally went to the chiropractor today, after a few adjustments he said I will be back to normal! :)

whew.

and on top of all of this I have been planning a big birthday bash!
My littles turn 4 and 2 this weekend! CRAZY!
It feels so weird for my youngest child to be 2 years old. I can't believe how time has flown by and how big my little loves are!
Since they are exactly 2 years apart: the 16th of Feb. and the 17th of Feb. we decided to do another combo party.
I'm so excited about the theme :)
I have a few more things to get done and then I will photo bomb the heck out of this lil' blog.
I'm figuring this will probably be the last combo party I can do with the two of them, because Little miss is really getting girly :)

So what have you been up to lately?

future Army?

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

I was seriously sad when my hubby decided to get out of the Army, we knew it was what was best for our family at then time, but I was still sad because overall the Army was good to our family.
We have even been recently thinking about him getting back in and trying to push a warrant officer packet, but then I get worried.
It is weird because I really do love the Army but all of this about downgrading our Army, our resources, the health care benefits, even going as far as not allowing troops to train to deploy...

Where do we live?

Is this the United States of America, with strong troops, significant resources and unbeatable military forces?
It's scary and most importantly its SAD. Sad that our army is losing good men, money, resources, and training time.

 What do you think?

Getting things in order

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

I have been feeling like a crazy lady since our move to New Mexico
and seriously that was FOUR months ago.
I came to the realisation that I just needed to kick my buns into gear.
So I wrote out my plan of attack to get myself feeling a little more back to our
"new normal"

1. Early wake up time- this is SOOO important. I have to get my game face on, both figuratively and literally. I need to have quiet time with The Lord, workout, plan our day, shower, makeup and get breakfast started. I want my kids to wake up to a friendly, well-rested Mama :)

2. Early bedtime- I don't LOVE this step because I feel like I am finally relaxed once my kiddos are in bed and I can watch tv, read, take a long hot bath, etc. But my early wake up time is so crucial I am giving up this time.

3. Resting during the kids nap time- sounds silly that I need to rest but if I really want to stay on my game all day, I can rest during this time and you know what... I'm totally okay with that! To rest when you need it.. HUH what a concept :)

It's been a little over a week and I am seriously feeling like my old "new" self. So ready to get this house back in order.
