Fashionista to "mom"onista

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

With the pregnancy of my son I gained a total of *gasp* 80 pounds..
Along with those 80 pounds came stretch marks, and huge hips
and a precious baby boy who changed my life for the better.
It took me until my son was 2 to lose all my extra love :)
Then just a few short months later I discovered I was pregnant with baby number 2.
with that sweet baby girl, I ate pizza as much as possible....
(to be exact it was Little Caesar's Hot -N- Ready's)
yet gained only 20 pounds, thank you God.
And I lost touch, Touch with that inner fashionista,
I used to know all the cute and hip things to wear.
The high heels and perfume and lip gloss.
I ask myself and sometimes I pout about where that girl went!
My shoes now mostly consist of sandals and running shoes, the occasional flip flop thrown in.
I can no longer fit in juniors clothes and the misses section, while fitting more properly makes me wince.
because my idea of fashion is not a embroidered flowered, button-up shirt.
So what's a girl (or should I say the youngest and hippest mom around) to do?
I long to be one of those hip mom's,
with great jeans and awesome makeup.
The one who totally looks smokin' hot while running into Wal-mart for diapers and wipeys, all while carrying the adorable baby on my hip.
So, I'm doing it. I have walked and swam laps every single day for about ten days,
yes 10 days isn't that much, but come July I am going on a shopping spree:
The inner fashionista is going to be let loose.
oh and please go check out my girl Brittney's give-away, tell her I sent you, because as I stated above:
I need some help with the revamp of the "new" more fashionable mommy!

  1. You go girl!!!!! I know all too well about missing out on your inner fashionista. You give the rest of us some hope! :)

  2. I LOVE White house black market for hip mommy versatile clothing! I cannot wait to shop there again after having baby number 3! It isn't cheap but everything mixes and matches with each other!

  3. I don't know if it's just me (or maybe Blogger), but the link didn't work!

  4. I just wrote a very similar blog (well, it didn't include Little Cesear Pizza but it probably should have!). It aska Where do I come from....kind of puts things in a new perspective. Check it out if you have a chance.

  5. Hey, 10 days is more than 0! Good for you!

And I agree, I like the juniors section more than the misses, too. I'm still working out how to squeeze my hips into those clothes, though! ;)

  6. Oh my goodness, I am scared of this too. Anytime now this baby is going to come, and I am really looking forward to exercising and getting back into some normal clothes! I hope it all works out for you and me! haha! :)

  7. Thank you for the comment. I will never understand those type of people. Not just women, but people.

"Foxy Friday" is something I started with my husband. Since he is on deployment, and I am working out everyday, I agreed to send him pictures every Friday of my progress. Now, he has something to look forward too! I figured why not blog about it as well. Maybe I can be of some inspiration to someone!

  8. Oh dear! You have made my day, you definitely struck me with that title "Fashionista to Momnista" Aren't we all now "Momnistas? LOL. But you definitely need to let loose, look the way you really want to look. Your kids will get their sense of fashion from you, so please keep working on getting that fashionista back.

I have you listed under my Military Resources...I just started my new blog, since my husband just joined the army and he is currently at Basic and then heading to Officer Candidate school in the fall. I am excited about my life in the army and I am glad to find military spouses like you on the blogosphere.

You can find my blog at Musings Of An Army Wife I have followed you, so feel free to follow me back. Have a terrific day!
